EASTER LILIES/FAWN LILIESI love our native fawn lilies (Erythronium oregonum to the purists, Easter Lilies, Dogtooth Violets, or Fawn Lilies to many Islanders). We have the most amazing patch of them. Both sides of our little creek become drifts of white, interspersed with yellow daffodils and purple grape hyacinth. It seems that every year, I have to get out there and draw them. The excitement of seeing them dance in the wind always spurs me to put more of them on canvas. |
