Oil pastel on cradled panel 12" X 48"

Trying something new here, doing a large-scale oil pastel on wood.

West Head is a wonderful headland that juts out into the wild Atlantic. The peninsula is covered with grasses, bayberry, cranberries, all manner of wild orchids and other flowers, and lobster pots thrown tens of metres inland by the storms. On this particular morning, it was calm and idyllic, quite rare conditions for this fabulous place. The resulting painting is perhaps a bit too soft and "pretty"...
