Political ArtHenry Harper/Stephen the VIII?Oil on canvas 36 in. X 36 in. Started the day of prorogation, 2008. This was a visceral response to Harper's attitude toward the Canadian public, his self-perceived role as Prime Minister, and his apparent sense of entitlement. I believed that he saw himself as king, above the fray and responsible to no-one, let alone Parliament or the electorate. I later realized that this was a mistake. I should have painted him as God.
